[CAR-PGa] CAR-PGa NEWSLETTER, Vol. 35, No. 3, March 2026

From Member Serban Ionita

I am the editor in chief of The RPG Gazette blog. I am also an MA student at the University of Bucharest, and I am trying to build my career around the study of TTRPGs

I plan on applying for a Fullbright scholarship for my PhD, and I was curious to find out if there are any professors that would be interested in taking me on. My PhD thesis will center around the influence of Dungeons and Dragons in the broader geek media landscape,

Thank you.

Picture1.jpg

CAR-PGA will hold board elections in early 2026. This organization depends on engaged board members to direct its work. Board members elect the chair, meet virtually a few times a year, and develop and encourage ongoing efforts to reflectively publicize RPGs and their benefits. If you are interested in serving on the board or would like to nominate someone else, please send the name and a brief description of relevant background to be published in an upcoming newsletter. It would be great to have your ideas and input as a member of the board. Read more at

[CAR-PGa] CAR-PGa NEWSLETTER, Vol. 34, No. 8, August 2025

I'm pleased to report that I survived my week-long hike in Philmont, New Mexico. But it was a true adventure, complete with altitude sickness, hypothermia, and one man down.

[CAR-PGa] CAR-PGa NEWSLETTER, Vol. 34, No. 7, July 2025

As I write this, I'm preparing to go on the most physically demanding challenge of my life: a week-long hike at the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. This trip is a milestone for several reasons: it is the last trip my son will go on as an Eagle Scout (he turns 18 in August), it is the last trip with my son before he goes to college, and it's the last High Adventure trip we will be doing with our Boy Scout troop. It's also an opportunity to bond before he moves into his dorm.

Re: [CAR-PGa] Fate of RPG Community Center, RPG Research, RPG Museum, RPG Mobile Fleet, etc.

Hi, Hawke,

I appreciate your forthright clarity and keeping me up to date on your projects. It's all incredible work, a gift to your community and the hobby in general. You've been through a wringer in all this. I hope the plan brings stability and more good work into the future.

I hope everything moves smoothly from winter into spring,

David

RPG Museum contents are in safe, secure, temperature controlled storage, we hope to resume cataloguing, inventory, storage improvements, scanning, etc. in Summary 2025 if all goes well. We are still receiving Museum Artifact physical donations, but please send donations to our Monroe Street Office going forward: 1312 N Monroe St, STE 114, Spokane, WA 99201.

RPG Mobile fleet services we hope will resume in Summer 2025, but that depends entirely on donations each month to get/keep them rolling.
