From Ted Skirvin (whose access to this group is blocked at the moment):
-- There is a TV series called True Detective. Each season has a different protagonist. For season three, the protagonist was investigating a missing brother and sister. In the first episode, they show the boy's room and they show a fictional D&D supplement called The Forests of Leng. If I'm not mistaken, it has the logo of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2nd edition on the cover. However, the disappearance takes place in 1980 which is before AD&D 2nd edition was published. The characters do mention a little about the kids playing the game in the woods. No character ever says "Dungeons & Dragons" in the show. A few shots show the typical dice set. After that first episode no games are mentioned and the show does not portray an RPG as being to blame.
