I'm closing this discussion under rule 1 and rule 4. (Side note, I
closed the discussion, then replied, assuming as a manager my reply
would be accepted. So now I'm re-typing my reply. :p )

I just added rule 5. Discussions of whether or not something was off-
topic ARE off-topic. If you think something is off-topic, reach out
to me or another manager. If you think something we moderated should
have bee allowed, reach out to me or another manager.

Paul, your reply to Hooper was clearly heartfelt and well-meant. But
it was also off topic.
Alan, your reply was also off-topic.
jethrotull, your reply, while an understandable sentiment, was also
off-topic.

If someone wants to take up a new thread about scouts and gaming, feel
free. Just keep it on-topic, please.
