[CAR-PGa] [TV show] supernatural

There's a show called supernatural about two brothers who hunt ghosts,
vampires, demons and such. The show on Friday night( 27 April 2012)
was titled The Girl with the Dungeons & Dragons Tattoo. Clearly, this
was a play on words concerning the books and movies called The Girl
with the Dragon Tattoo.

In the episode, the brothers get help on a case from a young woman who
is a good computer hacker. At one point, she tells them she has a
tattoo of Princess Leia in the slave girl costume straddling a D20. I
don't know if the show makes other references to RPGs. I only saw bits
and pieces of it.

Macquarie Sec reiterates `Underperform` on Bajaj Auto

Macquarie Sec reiterates `Underperform` on Bajaj Auto

Macquarie Securities has reiterated `Underperform` on Bajaj Auto with
a price target of 1,430 as against the current market price (CMP) of
1,732.05 in its report dated Apr. 20, 2012.

The broking house gave the following rationale:
We have revised downward our volume growth assumption for Bajaj`s
domestic as well as export business. We believe the company faces a
serious growth challenge in the domestic motorcycle industry, given
rising competitive intensity and a demand slowdown. Headwinds for
exports to Sri Lanka (35% of 3W and 10% of 2W exports) in the form of
a sharp increase in import duty, and rising competition in Africa, are
also likely to weigh on Bajaj`s export growth. We reiterate our
contrarian Underperform.

Impact:
Sharp deceleration in domestic motorcycle volumes. We expect Bajaj`s
domestic 2W volumes to grow 1% in FY13E compared to industry growth of
6.5%. This slowdown would be due to a likely decline in volume sales
of the Discover after HMSI`s entry into the executive segment (Dream
Yuga), as we believe Discover is a weaker brand than HMCL`s Splendor
or Passion. Further, we think the weak demand outlook of the premium
segment, in which Bajaj has a strong brand in Pulsar, would also weigh
on growth.

Performance of new launches holds the key. Bajaj has recently launched
a new premium segment bike, Duke 200 (from KTM). It also plans to
launch the new Pulsar 200 (based on a KTM engine) and upgrade the
Discover, to stem volume declines in its two biggest brands. We think
performance of new models is the key for Bajaj, as the Discover which
accounts for 50% of Bajaj`s domestic unit sales faces a decline.

Export growth likely to moderate sharply. We believe the large
increase in import duty on 2Ws and 3Ws in Sri Lanka and rising
competition from Honda in Nigeria will moderate export growth in
FY13E. Bajaj`s 2W and 3W export sales grew 2x and 1.7x, respectively,
in two years (FY10-12). We think our 2W and 3W export growth
assumption of 14% and 12% for FY213E have downside risk, given the
headwinds in Bajaj’s key export markets.

Guidance of 20% EBITDA margin is too optimistic. We believe Bajaj is
struggling to reverse volume decline in its high-margin premium bike
Pulsar, due to weak demand in the premium segment. Higher growth of
the Platina compared to Pulsar and Discover, along with slowdown in 3W
exports to SriLanka, will also likely impact margins. Higher
advertising and promotion spends due to a weak demand environment
would also impact margins. We expect Bajaj`s EBITDA margin to come
down by 60bp to 19.5% in FY13E with more downside risks than upside.

Valuation:
Underperform maintained: BJAUT is trading at FY13E PER of 15.7x, which
is a 22% premium to its historical valuation. With downside risk to
volume amidst rising competition, we expect valuations to revert
towards the mean.

[CAR-PGa] E-mail hack, archive note

As some of you have noticed, it seems that Paul's had his e-mail
address hacked (again). I've been getting spam straight to me for a
couple of days but didn't think to lock the account out of Google
Groups until the spambot noticed the list. Sorry about that.

The spam e-mail has been removed from the group archives.

I have taken these actions personally without waiting for consensus
among the available moderators on the grounds that this is (1) an
urgent situation—we don't want more spam or for the bot to figure out
how to read the membership list—and (2) one where there is a widely-
accepted protocol that can be implemented as routine business. Any
fault with the moderator response is strictly my own.

In service,
M. Alan Thomas II

Free of cost e-mail marketing tip

Email marketing is one of the highly used medium to reach thousands of
peoples through internet but it isn't that much effective in most of
the cases. Until and unless you have a good, established & reputable
website with genuine client base, it doesn't work well. Though it cost
little but what is the use of paying if it doesn't work especially
when you are doing it first time or new to email marketing.

Let me share you a free-of-cost approach to market your company, I'm
sure most of you guys are already aware of it but in case if anyone
isn't.

From couple of months, I have been marketing my blogs through GOOGLE
GROUPS. Marketing blogs via groups is a good and free of cost idea but
it will take a lot of time, you need to hire staff or otherwise you
auto-posting bots to do so but auto-bots will make it spamming. Well,
here is how I am doing it and driving instant traffic – I got 15 gmail
accounts and each account has 200 groups. I use tools like iMacro/
Robomaker to post a single message with spinning text at all of these
groups, so how many members I approach, let's say 15*200*150=450,000
members. (Actually, there are more members than that!). I know your
next question would be about moderated groups, well, yes some of
groups are moderated and may allow the post to be published if they
like it anyhow, who cares, at-least I am having 300k members in half-
an-hour. Good enough for free!

Is it spamming?

Well, in first thought YES it is – spamming includes duplicate content
in every single post but what IF it is UNIQUE or different every time?
See, I use advanced spinning techniques every time before any post,
making it look bit different or sometimes truly unique, just to make
Google thinks I am not spamming.

I have been using this approach from lots of month and I know how much
effective it is, I am trying to add more and more groups in my lists
with higher member base. If you guys out there aren't using this
technique yet, go ahead, I'm sure you will have better results like
me. I won't share my email but if you like, I got Robomaker bots
available for sale – all you have to do is make emails, join groups
and put them in a csv file at your desktop and let the bot now the
path then put subject line and message in the bot and execute it.

{If a|A}nyone {require my|want} {help|assistance}, do {tell me|let me
know} – it would be my pleasure helping you out!

Regards,

Hero may export bikes from April

Expects to sell 1 million 2-wheelers abroad by 2016-17 and generate
10% of its total revenue from exports by 2020

Hero MotoCorp Ltd will start exporting scooters and motorcycles
sometime in the April-June quarter this year, a year after it broke up
with Japan's Honda Motor Co. Ltd after a 27-year-long partnership that
effectively prevented it from tapping overseas markets for its
products.

"We will start exporting very soon, maybe in the first quarter of the
next financial year," Hero's chief executive and managing director
Pawan Munjal said in an interview last week. "We have identified some
distributors in Latin America and Africa."

Currently, Hero exports to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and some Latin
American countries, but these account for a very small portion of the
6.5 million vehicles it sells every year.

In 2010-11, for instance, it exported 114,581 scooters and
motorcycles, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile
Manufacturers. According to the company, it expects to sell one
million scooters and motorcycles in overseas markets by 2016-17, and
generate $1 billion, or Rs.5,060 crore today, (10%) of its total
revenue from exports by 2020.

A senior Hero executive, on condition of anonymity, said the firm is
also identifying overseas locations for assembly plants (factories
that assemble vehicles from parts). "We're open to set up an assembly
plant if (the) volumes justify it. There are (also) some countries
where import duties are on a higher side...that may require us to
assemble locally," he said. Typically, import duty on a complete
scooter or bike is higher than that on parts.

As part of the joint venture pact between the Hero Group and Honda in
1984, Hero was not allowed to export motorcycles to most large markets
where Honda had its own assembly units. After breaking up with Honda,
Hero created a separate arm focused on export markets, Hero
International Business.

The African market for two-wheelers is estimated to be one million
units per year, according to Sugan Palanee, senior regional leader and
auto expert (South Africa) at consultancy Ernst and Young.

Hero will compete with Bajaj Auto Ltd in the region. Bajaj, the only
Indian motorcycle manufacturer that exports to African markets, has
around a 30% market share of the entry-level motorcycle segment in the
continent, while Chinese manufacturers have the rest. In 2010-11,
Bajaj exported 972,437 vehicles to markets around the world.

Hero has identified at least 50 overseas markets for its products. It
will start with Africa and then move to markets in West Asia and Latin
America. "It is excited about the Latin American market, but expects
lead time of at least two years before it can enter them due to
dual-fuel usage," Jinesh Gandhi and Mansi Verma, sector analysts at
Motilal Oswal Securities Ltd, a Mumbai-based brokerage firm, wrote in
a report.

Gandhi explained that the current range of Hero's engines may not
perform well in countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Chile
that use ethanol-blended fuel.

Brazil is Latin America's largest two-wheeler market and saw sales of
at least one million scooters and motorcycles in 2011, Gandhi said. It
is also the world's largest producer of sugar cane. Ethanol is
produced in significant quantity by the Brazilian sugar cane industry,
and it is blended with petrol or diesel.

Hero won't immediately make money from exports, the Motilal Oswal
analysts said in their report. "Going by the experience of Bajaj Auto,
exports in the initial ramp-up phase could be loss-making," they
wrote.

In order to build its brand overseas, the firm also plans to be
present at prominent motor shows, Munjal said. "Last year, we were
present at Milan Motor Show and this year we'll be going to Brazil,
which is also famous for motorcycles," he said.

A year ago in March, Hero Group bought Honda's 26% stake in Hero
Honda, now Hero MotoCorp, at half the market value. Hero Investments
Pvt. Ltd, the investment arm of Hero Group, paid Rs. 3,842 crore to
buy Honda's stake in Hero Honda.

continent, while Chinese manufacturers have the rest. In 2010-11,
Bajaj exported 972,437 vehicles to markets around the world.
