everyone.
The first bit is the announcement of a wedding that will take place in
the Sentry Box, the largest gaming store in Calgary, Alberta (where I
live) some time next month. It's also something like one of the
biggest gaming stores in North America, and lives inside a dead and
forgotten dance club. Anyways, this wedding request seems to have come
as a surprise to the staff. "According to the bride to be, they have
lots of happy memories of time spent playing games in the store and
want to tie the knot here."
The other bit is the announcement of a movie that was partially shot a
month back in the same store. The movie, Lloyd the Conqueror (IMDB and
website links in the newsletter below) has a handful of scenes shot in
the store. I was in the store around the time of shooting, and they
had to rearrange some of the shelves due to permission restrictions
(bad Games Workshop). Aside from the coolness of it being partially
shot in a gaming store, this adds to the list of odd movies that took
place in Calgary, including WayDownTown and apparently Fubar.
For some more details (not many though), check out the Sentry Box's
November Newsletter.
