It is old news, but don't let that stop you. We have undoubtedly missed a lot of vanuable documents along the way. When you get to it, digitize that one and it will be one less of the archives I will need to get to you.
One of the best from that period is from the CBC radio series Ideas, 29 May 1991, ID 9190, titled Dungeons & Dragons. Although recorded separately and edited in, it includes both Pulling and Gygax, and an attempt to explain RPG to those who only had heard (generally false things) about it. The archives have copies in three forms: the tape recording, the official transcript of the programme, and my "pop-up audio" version with 11x117 inch signs giving background at various places in the show. This was long before the popular pop-up video comments on pop video recordings on TV.
I remember a successful performance of this at Dallascon '92 dress rehearsal for Origins '93. At question time, someone from the trade group GAMA stood up and announced we should stop doing that show because there were no longer any attacks on RPGs. This was immediately countered by five different game retailers in the audience stating they were currently being harrassed by law enforcement departments in their cities for selling RPG.
Things have improved vastly since 1991, but it is still a good show for a "down memory lane" hour at game conventions.

Subject: [car-pga] Role-Playing Games and the Christian Right: Community Formation in Response to a Moral Panic
I'm not sure if this is old news (probably), but I came across this
while looking up a Donahue episode that I read about in one of the
older posts.
http://www.usask.ca/relst/jrpc/art9-roleplaying-print.html
I haven't had a read through it yet (it's rather long, and I'm
archiving articles at the moment), so I'm not sure if there is
anything of particular interest in it. The one bit that I did look at
(why the article came up in my search) is this:
3. Current affairs and talk show appearances
[10] Pulling, Radecki and others appeared on numerous talk shows and
current affairs programs such as the Gil
Gross Show, Geraldo, Sally Jesse Raphael, Donahue, 60 Minutes and
others. decrying Dungeons and Dragons as
a Satanic threat to children and a major cause of suicide and youth
crime.
On that topic, at least it names a few talk shows that might be worth
looking up. Anyone have copies of them?
Bryan
