Greetings,
Just a reminder we have our annual Tolkien gaming convention coming up.
A few years ago, someone from this list (thank you Cason Snow) came to
speak about encouraging RPG acceptance in libraries.
If anyone wishes to come speak this year on any RPG related topics, you
would be most welcome.
More information on the convention, and all the previous years (since
2005), including guest speakers, audio/video archives, RSVP online form,
etc. are available at:

Hope some folks choose to come, but if you can not attend, and are
interesting and watching some of the key events, they are streamed real
time via Internet audio and video, with real time chat rooms for Q&A
questions from Internet audience as well as the on site audience.
Later these audio and video clips are made available as downloads on the
site for those who could not watch the live streams.

The mission: A large scale, long term, multi-variable,
triple-blind series of research studies on the therapeutic aspects of
role playing gaming.

The purpose is to determine the causal characteristics
of role playing games, rather than relying on merely correlative
data as other studies have done in the past.

its concern lies with the 'whole person' and with permitting
individuals to assume self-responsibility for their own health.
Whereas illness is the sole concern of 'traditional medicine',
holistic 'well medicine' deals with wellness and health promotion"
