[CAR-PGa] Gen Con Indy's attendance shatters previous records

No, my understanding (from inflated recreation center counting) is that only three times would be counted in that case.  However, I can't guarantee that in the convention case, that all four wouldn't be counted.  Don't magnify this into a "rule lawyering" issue.  My main point was only that one can't compare a turnstyle and a registration system meaningfully.

I once was told that if a kid walked along a curb with one foot in the gutter and the other on park grounds, we should count each park step as a separate attendance.  Why we should be counting some silly kid's steps instead of providing recreation to the public, was never explained.  We were also instructed to gather figures on how many were in attendance three times a day and add all three figures for the day's total, even though a given individual may have been in two or even three counts.  I am not accusing GenCon of doing this!  Different operations use different record-keeping methods; nothing else - except don't assume they are all using the same method.

That's very helpful Paul, thank you for the explanation!

If I follow your logic, that means:

1) If I purchased a 4 day ticket it means I was counted 4 times, and
2) If I purchased a 4 day ticket and only showed up 3 days, I was still coounted 4 times.

Is that accurate?
