[CAR-PGa] History of roleplaying

I stumbled across two articles today when doing some research for my
gaming collection (looking for details on important milestone games).
I thought I would share them, as they care pretty detailed.

The first is a 9 part story of gaming by Steve Darlington. The article
deals with the history of gaming prior to WoTC's purchase of TSR and
the d20 era. Most of the article focuses on what games were being
released, and what movements were taking place. Interestingly, it does
not limit itself to roleplaying specifically (it begins with wargames,
and at one point talks about the rise of CCG's). Also, it does touch
on some of the BADD stuff, and mentions the CAR-PGa.

This is a cool read, although I do feel like it starts to fall apart
towards the end. The earlier articles are a lot more clear about who
the movers and shakers in early gaming were and why certain games were
important. The later articles spend more time about the kinds of games
that were coming out, and spends a lot of time fumbling around with
White Wolf, almost like the author didn't know how to talk about the
company.

While cross referencing something from Darlington's article, I came
across a similar looking series of articles on RPG.net. I haven't
really looked at these yet, but the Super Heroes article (which is
linked below) when into a lot of detail that Darlington either chose
not to include or glossed over.

Hope everyone likes the read.
