I'm happy to hear that you were able to alleviate her concerns. I recently met with a local gamer who was resistant in introducing his own gaming group to other games, for fear of backlash with their church. I offered to clear up any misconceptions that he and others may have, using the resources of this organization, but he was simply to apprehensive. It is unfortunate, since he and the others are roleplaying, but that he cannot get past a perceived social fear of persecution.
It warms me that, after a blog post I just read about some negative happenings close to my home, someone can change 30 years of opinions and put aside personal pain simply by having an open mind and taking the time to listen. I look forward to reading the interview.

I have a detailed interview coming up with a Christian woman (senior--
receptionist at a business office) on this topic. The interview took place last
month over a few weeks. She had previously banned her children from D&D
through the 80s and 90s because she had heard "Bad things" about it. She had
felt too busy to take the time to investigate, and because her church leaders
and fellow members said it was bad, she just accepted that (as most people do
unfortunately).
What triggered the conversation, when she realized I was using the offices for
RPG Research, and she realized that linked with D&D, she also thought her
nephew-in-law had committed a double homicide this past December because of
his (in her view) addiction to D&D, and she was concerned about having that in
the office complex.
However, after several explanations and pointing her to the existing research
data, she finally had a complete change of viewpoint. I hope to publish this
interview later this week.
