Description: The Microstrategy - BI Tool Admin acts in a consultative nature to both the Business and IT in identifying, researching, and implementing leading edge technologies and practices. The System Engineer has a technical background across multiple applications and utilizes that knowledge to leverage technology across the TRP organization to create next generation solutions. Consults with ASE and other IT teams to provide project-level development support. Responsible for integration of new and often complex technologies into the TRP technical architecture and process framework.

 

This Admin is a strategic advisor to the Business and IT Management on key technology solutions. In addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the employer?s software and hardware, systems engineers need advanced analytical, troubleshooting and design skills. The ability to communicate with technical and nontechnical users also is essential. Employers may require extensive knowledge of the development process, including specification, documentation and quality assurance. Because of the broad range of demands systems engineers must meet, candidates who have demonstrated strong project planning skills often hold an advantage.

 

Our client generally prefers candidates with five or more years of experience working with the specified hardware and software systems, and a bachelor?s degree or equivalent experience.

 

Typical duties include: Developing, maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware and system software components Performing installation, maintenance and support of system software/hardware and user support Configuring, debugging and supporting multiple infrastructure platforms Performing high-level root cause analysis for service interruption recovery and creating preventive measures

 

Additional Job Details: This individual will be responsible for Business Intelligence platform administration and implementation of BI best practices specifically for the MicroStrategy application, within the IT organization. • Enable security and provide for external application access to MicroStrategy • Investigate and resolve various issues pertaining to MicroStrategy and application security. • Manage, execute and validate MicroStrategy infrastructure upgrades including major and minor patch releases. • Develop best practices around managing MicroStrategy specific Windows server configurations • Serve as a technical support contact for the vendor to resolve platform-related issues which require vendor assistance.

 

Qualifications: • 3- 5 years of experience in BI administration and working with MicroStrategy products • 3-5 years SDLC experience working with aggressive timelines for solution delivery • Advanced verbal and written communication skills • Advanced technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills as well as development support skills
