Re: [CAR-PGa] Re: [new research project] RPG books in public libraries

I am moving between countries now, and in Brazil usually the municipalities libraries catalogs aren't  online, so sorry. I am sure they must have something like old D&D or GURPS in my current city, but I had no time to go downtown yet, and I am not sure if I will be able to.

In Japan people play in "clubs", usually at High Schools,Universities and community centers, because of the lack of space. So I really do not know if we can find TRPGs at libraries in Japan, maybe old "replays" (Books that consist of TRPG sessions transcriptions).

Isn't it better to launch an online survey about this? And didn't Wizards of the Coast had a program for libraries a couple of years ago?

All the best for you guys.

Okay, today was the deadline and no one responded. Come on, folks. This is an easy thing to check. No one can contribute?

Last October I was in Stamford, Connecticut and I stopped in the library downtown. On a whim I decided to see if they had any RPG books. There was one book for D&D 4th edition in their catalog.

A few weeks ago I checked the library here in Marietta, Georgia. We have the Player's Handbook, Dungeonmaster's Guide and the Monster Manual for D&D 5th edition.

So, for this research project, I'm asking everyone reading this message to check your local public library and see what they have. Search for anything related to RPGs. Then, reply right here in this thread. Depending on your library system, you may be able to search their catalog online from home. Let's set the deadline as 24 July 2017.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with.
