Saturday Night Live apparently did a skit portraying D&D players as the stereotypical white, male, pocket protector crowd. I couldn't find a copy online, but it inspired people on Twitter to start posting diverse pictures of themselves on Twitter with the hashtag "#DnDSelfie": https://twitter.com/i/moments/1115356281169117185 (no PDF because it's mainly pages and pages of selfies which are nice but low research value)
